Enable Advanced Applications through Polymer AM Technology

Cary Baur (Manager of Applications Development - Polymer, EOS North America)

Location: 208B

Date: Tuesday, February 5

Time: 4:00pm - 4:45pm

Track: 3D Printing Innovation Summit

Vault Recording: TBD

As polymer additive manufacturing technology continues to evolve, never-before possible applications in aerospace, automotive, and consumer products are being unlocked. With advances in machine, material, and software platforms — such as new systems that are allowing for higher performance polymers to be produced, as well as materials such as high temperature composites and soft polymers — this technology continues to push the boundaries into new markets. This session will explain how polymer AM has taken shape over the years, how new innovations are taking AM from prototyping to production, and how to take the first steps in implementing AM into your operations.

Session topics include:

  • History and Future of Polymer 3D Printing
  • New Materials and Systems in Polymer 3D Printing
  • Successful AM Applications through the presentation of use cases
  • Taking the First Steps in Additive Manufacturing

Example applications include:
  • Lightweighting automotive – with an example in Formula 1 Racing
  • Aerospace components – an example of flame retardant ductwork with Boeing
  • Apparel and sportswear – the EOS / Under Armour 3D-printed shoe and other examples
