Technically, Irmak has BS and MS degrees in Material Science from Sabanci University, MS and PhD degrees in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Northwestern University, and an Art History minor from Sabanci University. Practically, he believes in merging knowledge from different disciplines to help figure out the right questions.
